SC Engineers provided third-party LEED fundamental and enhanced commissioning services to review and verify the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for the new, LEED Gold Certified hospital, central utility plant, and 2,500-space parking structure. The hospital includes 54 patient rooms, ancillary departments, emergency care units, primary care units, specialty care clinics, and support spaces.
Our team provided review of the Government RFP and programming requirements; review of Contractor’s design submittals; review and optimization of the Contractor’s DDC sequence of operation and control system architecture; review and issue tracking of MEP installations; and functional performance verification of all energy-related MEP systems. Our proactive involvement in the design review process identified multiple issues that improved the reliability and efficiency of the building MEP systems and controls. As a result, SC Engineers received a Bravo Zulu Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of our contribution from ROICC.
"SC Engineers' technical expertise in the design and commissioning of healthcare facilities and the conscientiousness with which you approached the project was demonstrated in the extraordinarily successful performance of the building's mechanical systems and provided the tools to make informed decisions on critical issues ranging from energy efficiency to patient health and safety." - Dude Underwood, CDR, CEC, USN, ROICC, Naval Hospital MCB Camp Pendleton |
