SC Engineers served as the Mechanical Engineer of Record, providing mechanical and plumbing design, LEED documentation, and construction administration services for the new Student Health & Counseling Services located at California State University’s San Marcos campus. The facility replaces the former Student Health Center which was housed in an off-campus rental space with outdated resources and equipment.
The 20,000 SF, two-story facility is designed to promote the social, emotional, and physical well-being of students and houses the following departments and support facilities: administration, clinical, counseling, group conference, health education, laboratory, medical records, pharmacy, staff areas, storage, waiting areas, examination areas, and building support spaces. Sustainability was at the forefront of design and construction and the project achieved LEED Gold certification.
