SC Engineers provided campus-wide energy and utilities master planning services for the University of San Diego which included condition assessments and retro-commissioning (RCx) services for all buildings on campus. A total of 2,540,000 SF of facility area was investigated to identify building deficiencies with recommendations for short-term, low-cost/no-cost RCx measures and a 10-year Master Plan for recommended building system repairs and improvements. The Master Plan also addressed all primary campus utilities to identify existing system arrangements, existing capacities, and future system requirements.
The recommended repairs and improvements resulted in a phased program for system implementation with specific implementation costs for each year. Our ASPE-certified cost estimator worked with equipment vendors and contractors to optimize the projected payback periods and include $430,000 in utility incentives.
